Rodman Reservoir Fishing

The Rodman Reservoir is also known as Lake Ocklawaha and is regarded as one of the Top 10 bass lakes in Florida. The Rodman Reservoir is a 15 mile long impoundment of the Ocklawaha River and is actually a flooded forest that provides great underwater structure and habitat for fish. This can also make for dangerous boating conditions with areas of floating logs, heavy vegetation, and submerged trees and stumps. The cooler months tend to be the best for trophy sized bass in Rodman Reservoir, try live shiners around dropoffs, stumps, and along weed edges. Bluegill and shellcrackers hit from early spring through late summer on worms and crickets.
